Greene County FFA celebrates 2012 National FFA Week, February 18-25
Greensboro - Greene County FFA will celebrate National FFA Week February 18-25, 2012. I Believe is this year’s theme, and it celebrates more than 80 years of FFA traditions while eagerly anticipating the organization’s future. More than half a million nationwide members will participate in National FFA Week activities at local, state and national levels.
FFA members are the innovators and leaders of tomorrow. Through agricultural education and hands-on learning, they prepare for the more than 300 career opportunities in the food, fiber and natural resources industry.
Greene County FFA members will celebrate National FFA Week by participating in a variety of activities. On Tuesday, FFA officers will join ROTC members for a flag raising ceremony. Wednesday, members will visit Greensboro Elementary to teach students about plants. On Thursday, teachers will be treated to breakfast and on Friday, the chapter will host a jeans day for students and faculty, with proceeds benefitting Relay for Life. The chapter is also hosting a coloring contest for pre-school students. During lunch each day, students may test their skills in a cornhole tournament.
For additional information contact Mrs. Constance Reid, FFA Advisor at Greene County High School.
